The Retro Blackpool Belle

This August, we are travelling from Oxfordshire and through the Midlands and Cheshire to Blackpool, for the annual Blackpool Airshow. The trip is running on Saturday 10th August, and will be timed to allow you to see the airshow - a free event over the Blackpool seafront - and allow some time to visit the attractions this popular seaside resort has to offer.

The train will take you to Blackpool North station, which is a short stroll to the seafront, where the airshow will be taking place. You can also hop on board the heritage trams along the seafront. You can obtain heritage tram tickets with your booking, which also allow you to travel on local buses and the modern trams along the coast.

Once the airshow has finished, you should have time to sample a little stick of Blackpool rock, or perhaps even some fish & chips! Don't miss your chance to ride aboard the Retro Blackpool Belle - book now to avoid disappointment!

Train Information

Our famous on board ‘Real Ale Bar’ will be available, serving a variety of hand-pumped Real Ales, wines and hot snacks. We are the only mainline operator to serve real ales by hand-pump in Britain!

As usual, there will be three classes of accommodation to suit all budgets.

Standard Class

Our standard class accommodation is very comfortable, with tables and large windows allowing you to enjoy your Retro experience.

First Class

If you want a little extra luxury, First class is perfect. With wide, padded seats, our ex-Intercity First Class coaches provide the perfect ambience to enjoy the scenic journey.

Premier Dining

Our Premier Dining option will make your day extra special. Our on-board chefs prepare a Great British Breakfast in the morning and a 3-course evening meal on the return journey. If you want to re-create the Golden Age of Train Travel, this is certainly your opportunity!

The train is booked to arrive into Blackpool North at 1207.

The return service is booked to depart promptly from Blackpool North at 17:12; please arrive at the station in good time.
