The Glasgow Avoider
Please note, the itinerary of this tour has changed at short notice, due to Network Rail informing us that there is no spare capacity to accommodate a train of our length at Glasgow Central. Join us for a scenic day trip to Stirling this Spring. Picking up at the stations listed below, we pass the imposing Cumbrian fells, as we head North, dropping off at Motherwell for those who wish to visit Glasgow, the train will proceed to Stirling (via Coatbridge Central). We are distributing details of onward travel to Glasgow, to all passengers booked on the tour. On the return journey we will be travelling via the West Coast route, rather than via the East Coast as previously advertised. Therefore we are unable to set down at York. The following timings are now confirmed.
Train Information. We have made a request for a pair of Class 37 locomotives supplied by DRS to haul this tour. The train will consist of Standard, First and Premier Dining accommodation. Our famous "Real Ale" bar is available, serving hand-pumped ales from Greenfield Brewery as well as hot & cold snacks. In addition a trolley service will be available in both First and Standard class. Standard Class
These traditional, comfy British Rail coaches are ideal for a day out. Seating in standard class are arranged in bays of four, the majority with tables. First Class If you want a little extra luxury, First class is perfect. The coaches feature spacious, well padded seats, and will make your trip that bit more special! Premier Dining
